HI. For the thrid time in 3 years I have to move. This time its because the owner is retired and wants to stay in Running Springs. I rent the bottom of a tri level right outside of East Highland Ranch. Her son lives on the top 2 floors and we share - platonically - the kitchen/

I have looked and looked but have lots of requirements - like no stairs or swampcoolers - due to my disability. Its ridiculous. Found 4 over the course of 4 months (real genuine leads) but each time I call to verify our apt it has rented..

The lack of supply is so great that people are jumping at anything. The housing crisis has hit renters full swing.. The other 2 moves were buyout or financial problems of owners.

The only things advertised in the paper have been ther forever.

I am considering moving to Vegas because they also are in a landlord/seller market but have more and newer housing stock. Seriously I was told I could pay the owners son to take out a swamp cooler and install 2 a/c and some ceiling fans. In a building which is probably from the 1950s or older.

The constant moving is stressful and by now, the downpayment on the theoretical small condo which the lenders are buying up with cash.

There is no more employment here. Each year i look things are worse.

Good luck. Cant imagine being on a fixed income w/no aid or anything in OC!!! If they let you in, that is.

thanks for the economic update, will pass along. look at low income senior housing, something that is secure. how about building a tiny home on families property. I would look at renting a room long term

Good thing you cleared that up right off the bat. I would have been worried you two were using the kitchen for non-platonic adventures.

Good & bad news. I'm 50 so not much could go on in kitchen
But I'm so young they won't let me into senior housing for 5
Years !

Will keep trying.all the house shares I investigated aren't working.
Finding people wAnt to put 4 adults who don't know one another
Into a big house. If they don't live there & you have no say
As to other borders, could be a disaster!

Will just keep looking.

Thanks. Kitchen? Missed out.
