I've spent a lot of time exploring the Santa Ana riverbottoms as a kid its one of my favorite places in riverside. I found some marijuana plants down there and I was once chased by a pack of wild boars! I was a tagger in my teenage years and I would go down there in the middle of the night and tag on the bridges its a scary creepy place at night. One night while tagging a police helicopter came out of nowhere and spotted me with its spotlight i took off running it was on hot pursuit after me but I know the bottoms like the back of my hand I lost them with ease.

I have seen Red Fox & gopher snakes. There have been sightings of Mt. Lions, also. In the areas between the Santa Ana Canyon and Riverside, there are are large populations of wild hogs.

Yep. After seeing rivers in the eastern half of the country I find it amusing to call the Santa Ana River a river.
