OK, everybody...can you tell me what cable or Directv costs in La Quinta area (or Palm Springs) or Murrieta or Sun City-Menifee??

We switched a couple years ago here in PA from Dish (terrible service and one of our TV's kept freezing up all the time and they couldn't fix the problem) to our local cable company. Much better service and we don't have any freezing! We have 2 HD boxes with PVR and whole house wifi. We have over 200 channels and our internet and landline is bundled for around $175/mo. Would I be paying more/less or about the same out there?

I just checked out the Verizon website for cable and internet service in Murrieta. It's pretty detailed and may tell you what you need to know.

Just an FYI ...

I live in the area you're looking at and have had DishTV since 1999 with no problems.

We have Verizon FIOS which is fiber optic to the home. We have had it for 8 years. Murrieta was the first place in the country to get Verizon FIOS. We love it. We have Verizon FIOS TV, Internet, digital landline phone and our Verizon cell phone all bundled. Consumer Reports has consistently rated Verizon FIOS the best.

We have the extreme TV package with 500 channels plus Showtime and Cine Max. We also have international phone package. The internet speed is 35/mbps download and upload. We pay $222 /mo including taxes which also includes our cell phone.

Zero complaints here w/ DirecTV, bill runs a hair over $100 a month in LQ, we haven't set up a bundle plan as of yet.

Thanks

We always had Directv when we lived in Riverside and then had it in our fifth-wheel when we retired and traveled. Never had any complaints with them but Dish was a different animal altogether
