I am very curious:

Hidden Valley Nature Center trails in Riverside and Santa Ana Riverbed trails in Norco -- what was it like there before they cut down the Arundo (bamboo)? Does anyone have any photos or videos of how it used to be? I love the tunnels and trails that you can ride your horse on, but I can only imagine it used to be so much better before! Does anyone want to share their thoughts and stories? I woud love to hear them.

Arundo isn't bamboo. Just looks like it.
It may have looked nice, but ...
Wild pigs and snakes hid in it.
Invasive non-native, very water-hungry plant.
Also a big fire hazard.

Sorry, what I meant to put is that Arundo is bamboo-like.

The wild Boar are still there! Last year I came upon a "sounder of wild Boar" in the Norco Riverbed while riding a horse (4 huge adults with 25 to 30 little babies)!

Another time I saw a Bobcat in one of the tunnels!
