I know this post is very old and I'm not sure this reply will find you.

We started the idea of moving to AH 2 plus years ago but things changed and we stayed here (San Diego area. Now we're right back to thinking of making the move again and would love to hear your experience if you made the move.

Lake Arrowhead has gone downhill in many respects. I wouldn't live there anymore. Many of the large homes (3000+ sg feet), simply don't sell, so the owner generally rents out the house to about 4 different families. This results in noise, cars all over the place and just a lousy environment for those who own their homes. Renting has exploded and has made a dreadful impact on Arrowhead. Its glory days are long, long in the past.
