Hello! I've been eyeballing a property out in Redlands that has a not-insignificant orange grove on the grounds (more than personal use, or selling at a stand.) I think anyone who buys this property will by necessity be devoted to orange-care, and I was curious whether they can turn a profit (small as it might be.)
Are there any posters (or friends thereof) who are members of the Sunkist co-op? I read a little it's an option for local growers, but info online is somewhat limited. I've also read that a few breweries are interested in locally-grown oranges. And obviously, price is driven by supply/demand, but does an average of $10 a crate sound right?

Thanks in advance for any insight!
Cheers!

Don't know about Sunkist.

The brewery would probably be Hangar 24 which is near Redlands Airport and the soccer park, since their product is an orange wheat, but I always thought that was a wheat that is orange in color. Maybe give them a call.
