In a couple weeks I will be moving from near Santa Maria to Camarillo. However, my heart really lies in old fashioned western downtowns. Santa Maria used to have a really nice western downtown. I am wondering what towns and small cities in the Inland empire have the closest feel to that? One day I just want to take a road trip from CA to see parts of AZ and CO. In the mean time, I think Redlands is a good start? I've seen Temecula's downtown and I like it alot.

Any other ideas?

It's not in the IE but Old Town La Quinta might work.

Well then, please enlighten us what you mean by "old western and historic". Cowboys and indians? Wagon trains?

Well, like old fashioned country western cafes. Brick buildings. Maybe country is a better word and not so much western

You defined "old western" by saying "old fashioned".

I give up.

If you want a "country western cafe", go to Branson.

Not sure if it's considered the IE but San Dimas has a western style downtown.
