Okay we all want a new place to try out, especially if its close to home. And for those of us that commute during the week, somewhere we dont have to drive to far to go to. LOL

Granted are only so many choices of food, but a whole lot of different places when it comes to the restaurants that serve the types of food.

I think the opening of a new place is always so promising & exciting. Recently this weekend we (hubby, I and a bunch of our friends) tried out two new places:

D Canters and Hard Hats, both in the Wildomar/Murrieta/Temecula area. Both were terrible and we will give them 6 months before we go back.

My questions here are-

What do you look for when trying to find a new place? location, type of food, decor

What is the deciding factor to go? price, food, ambiance, hang out...

Once there, what is your discussion and general thoughts about it? crowd, menu, prices, location, service etc.

If its bad, do you wait for a few months before going back to give it another try? or nix it right there and tell people its a no go?

If you like Chinese food, you will most likely love Cafe China Buffet, in Lake Elsinore. it was just rated as one of the "Top 100 Chinese Restaurants in the Untied States."
This place has about 120 different dishes daily, which are always fresh, and deliciously prepared.
Their prices are very reasonable, as well.
They are located on Casino Drive, just diagonal from the Lake Elsinore Sizzler just parallel to the southbound side of I-15. Exit Diamond Drive, and turn left on Casino Drive, where you will see the ARCO , and Carls Jr, and a Mobil station on the corner of Casino Dr, and Diamond Drive.
They seat approximately 180 guests, and have really great service, and 5 double serving tables.
I started eating there in October 2009, and now eat there several time per week.
Lunch M-Sat is only $6.50. Dinners and all day on Sunday is $9.95. Mind you, this is an all you can eat buffet.

OK, when I wanna get all lovey dovey with Mrs. W (it does happen!) we go to Gourmet Italia. We've only been to the one in Temecula but I understand thee's one in Murrieta too. They have live Jazz(sounds better than a dead jazz) on Saturdays starting c 7pm.

The is food fantastic and the staff are too. Expect to drop c $130 plus tip on a great dinner with a bottle of vino. It does get VERY busy on Saturday, so we go early c 6.30pm to snag a nice table.

Enjoy, we do!

There's your problem, you went to Hard Hats for Dinner. Its a sports bar with girls walking around in skimpy outfits. I would not think the food was going to be good.

does someone know a good indian restaurant?i really miss the great indian cuisine from the german big cities..i went to the blue peacock..and when i arrived was nobody there (during the week),so i run away...

i like gourmet italia but because of the pretty expensive wine taste of my husband we ended pay very, very much..yes,the special wine wishes for special european old wines...so it is a "dangerous" place to go,smile, wines are excellent...the food was very good,i liked teh romantic atmosphere..candles..music..for lovey dovey evenings great place...
but i have never waited in my life in a restaurant so long for food to arrive to our table...we came late and was very crowdy...the waitress was in stress and had also some memory problems..but i liked the place very much, felt like home, like europe and i go back again...earlier not so late evening..and lunch..
