I meant working and taking classes. Yes, im very aware of tuition. I dont have my heart set on COD, I just know i'll be attending a community college before starting my degree.

There are lots of nice community colleges including COD. Some are in potentially safer areas, such as Moorpark college in Ventura County. But it depends on ones politics. That is Reagan Country in Ventura County, but I have no idea if students would be conservative or not. Anyway.....California is very diverse.......

If you're going to go to COD, you're better living by or near COD. Cathedral City isn't bad. You just have to avoid certain areas. Palm Desert has no shortage of rentals.

[quote=Arizona89A;45910429]I'll post this for the OP if they come back and for anyone else.

Its like .... The snowbirds like young people who are their kids visiting for the holidays, but they dislike all young people who are residents of the valley.

This mainly results from the gay community in palm springs, and, the Hispanics.

I wish the valley was a more tolerant place. I move over here to AZ and see the same problems.

I doubt they like students, either.

They jack up the rents on all groups, to keep them out of the valley.

They start problems, like crime, etc. Don't supervise their kids. And do not forget the illegals and their issues.
