Ugh! Just when will I STOP asking these lousy questions?! Anyway, today's question will be about the lovely small desert town of Cabazon! You know, that place where it has the Dinosaurs Museum, the Cabazon Outlets, the Desert Hills Premium Outlets, the Morongo Casino, Resort, & Spa, the Nestlé Waters North America, Inc. department, the windmills, and that thing that fills the box-cars of the train up with sand/gravel? Anyways, I'm having a bit of a hard time figuring out whether Cabazon is located in the Coachella Valley or the Inland Empire. The reason I think that it's located in the CV is because, well, it's a desert, just like the rest of the California desert portion! However, the reason I think that Cabazon is located in the IE is because of its area code of (951).

So, what do you fellow people think on this? In your opinion, is Cabazon part of the CV or the IE?

Any answers are greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

I smell a rerun.

Cabazon is NOT in the I.E. It's just not. The cutoff for the I.E. is Calimesa (and that's a fringe town), if you're going along the I-10.

Area codes don't dictate regional exclusivity.

I think it would be considered part of the San Gorgonio Pass region along with Banning, Beaumont and Cherry Valley.

What you talkin' about, Willis? Banning, Beaumont, and Calimesa are clearly in the IE! Though, to me, Banning still feels a bit like desert.

I certainly agree that Cabazon, Banning, Beaumont, and Cherry Valley are indeed in the San Gorgonio Pass, but I still consider Banning, Beaumont, and Cherry Valley to be in the IE, though.

Eh, that's revisionist. Back in the '90s they weren't considered such. Calimesa more or less has, which is why I said it's the cutoff.

I have never seen anyone so obsessed with what is and what isn't in the IE. Give it a rest.
