Palm Springs is nice. I've heard from friends in the Palm Springs area that most of it is nice. There might be some slightly shadier areas like Desert Hot Springs, but I think it's half and half shady. You should take a trip to Palm Springs and spend a couple days where you go to the area you're interested in living in. Go there during the day and at night. Walk around and see if you feel comfortable.

Desert Hot Spring isn't an "area" of Palm Springs, it's a separate city north of the I-10 that takes a little drive to get to from PS. Either way, you don't want to live there if you can help it (ditto for North Palm Springs).

Hey, everyone thanks for commenting ..... I've decided to stay in Santa Clarita after visiting a fourth time in the summer. Yeah that heat is insane and i can't imagine being locked up months at a time trying to wait it through
