It’s a great place to live as long as you will be commuting outside of peak hours.

The good news is that you'll miss the worst of the traffic.

Is there anywhere closer to LAX that you could move to instead?

The worst traffic times going West are from about 4/430 AM till about 9/10AM, then going East from about 2PM till 8PM. At least that's how it was 10 years ago when I lived there (Norco)
I really like living in Corona/Norco. Lot's of construction on the freeways right now in the area, so it makes commuting a little tougher.
When I worked in Commerce (LA) my commute time working swing shift was right around 45 minutes to an hour.

Corona south of the 91 freeway is really nice but you’ll be commuting pretty far to LAX. The traffic on the 91 is horrible, there’s fast track part of the way but still pretty bad. You might want to also look into north of Corona, like Eastvale and Jurupa Valley, those areas are growing rapidly, and again if you don’t mind the traffic.
