Military is moving me to the area so I don't have a choice in the matter. However, I will have a choice of where to live and drive to March ARB daily. I am currently looking at Murrieta or Temecula which have been recommended already. I was told to stay out of Moreno Valley. Even the military stated the local area around the base weren't considered in the housing allowance survey due to "sub-standard quality and safety concerns." This information I have is 2 years old but it states electric bills can range between $250-$500 per month. I'm just a single guy with no kids. If I can sell some stuff I'm looking at a 1 bedroom apt or a 2 bedroom but I want to try and get into a 1 bedroom.

For those in the area, what are some average utility price ranges (e.i. water, electric) and any other expenses that most may not think about. Thoughts on areas to live? I found a few apartments already but until I see them in person I won't know for sure. I get to the area in May so I got a little time to gather as much information I can.
