Looking to travel from Indio to LAX in February. I'm curious as the best way to get there - I see Greyhound is much less than Flixbus. Is there a difference in terms of comfort and or safety. I would take a shuttle from LA Union station to LAX

Drive a car. Simple. AND convenient.

Airport parking for 2 weeks at LAX is quite expensive. I always thought Greyhound buses were for homeless or ex cons so thought Flixbus might be better even if it cost more.

Lots of logistics for my taste. Bus, shuttle, flight.

Are you looking for the easiest or cheapest? You say “best”, which is car, IMO. 10-605-105-LAX. There are long term parking options that might make this more palatable.

That's interesting, thanks for posting. I think there will come a time when Palm Springs will have an international airport.

They tried to make the former Air Force Base in San Francisco into an international airport, but it fizzled. It's mostly cargo still.

Very interesting. I hadn't heard about Flixbus. It owns Greyhound amongst other services. The last time I rod Greyhound (about 17 years ago) I swore it was my last and it was. *shudder* Same with Amtrak.

Oh yes, they do. They descend upon Phoenix and Scottsdale every year. For the most part they are ok, but some of them are rude. There were a couple parties in my condo complex who would stir up trouble (as a homeowner) every year, and then split 2 months later. I could always tell when the snowbirds had arrived because of all the dog poop left on the public sidewalk next to the golf course. Of course, not all snowbirds are Canadians. I've talked to some people who don't like the Canadian snowbirds at all. To be fair, it was probably just a one-off experience they had.

And thanks for the heads up at the PS airport. I've been away from CA for too long!

I think the person referring to the air force base in San Francisco was referring to the airport in San Bernardino which now offers commercial flights (Avelo). Ended up getting a ride from Indio to Downtown LA and then took Flyaway Shuttle. Returned via Amtrak to Fullerton and then Amtrak Bus Shuttle to PS Airport. Nice return trip.

You're right! I'm too accustomed to writing "San Francisco", having lived there for many years. Thanks for pointing that out!

Do you know how long it took for them to start offering commercial flights? Seems like it took a while.

Breeze Airways is the carrier that flies out of San Bernardino International Airport to Las Vegas and San Francisco. Avelo Airlines flies out of Burbank.
