I'm guessing it was actually hail, since it's in the 60s. But the tornado... notable for sure!

That's what I love about California, every natural disaster, political and social problem known to man - and it still keeps going. Hope everyone out there is okay.

Crazy pictures on the news last night. The hail covered the ground like snow, tornadoes. Here in the OC it was trash day yesterday, so peoples' trash bins were floating down the flooded streets. It cleared quickly though. Still crazy to drive through water up to the door of the car. Was anyone on this post stuck on the freeway by where the train derailed and the semi overturned? I feel for you. Also for the canyon dwellers that have mudslides trapping them indoors and/or ruining their businesses. Please be safe!

I remember Moreno Valley getting snow once, back in 84. It was crazy because the weather had gone from one extreme to the other in a matter of an hour. It was wierd. But then just a couple of years ago when I lived in Az, we actually got snow in Casa Grande too, for a day. That, too, was strange.

Hearing about this was very surreal to me. I was in western Kansas at a small convention that day. Outside it was thundering and lightening and dropping hail and the are was under a tornado watch. The emergency guy had informed those of us on staff that we should be prepared to evacuate.

My cell was misfunctioning so when I called home to tell them I was fine the connection was bad and they thought I was talking about Riverside. I was "huh? Moreno Valley?"

Very strange....
