Hi,
I'm considering a job (pays well) near Loma Linda. Don't really care to live in the L.A. area, but the Inland Empire seems a bit different.

I'm a rock climber, by hobby, and so living near Joshua Tree seems neat, same with Bear Lake and what that offers. Also like the idea of alpine communities up hwy 330 (could a person afford that?). I'm not much into "city" life so I don't care much about "what to do" in L.A (grew up in Chicago), but I like the idea of having access to the ocean, etc

SO - reality check - how miserable is it to just drive through there? How bad is daily commuting traffic on Hwy 330, or even up Mill Creek Road?

I've never been there, so before I even visit, I might as well know the ugly truth first. Could I carve out an existence in that vicinity and manage some sanity? Otherwise I'll stay northbound...

Thanks,
