Unfortunately - there is no workable alternate route :-(

The other options would send you deep inland on windy, dangerous roads.

try leaving before 6:30AM if possible.

Depending on where you are going, you could take back roads to Highway 76 west to I-5 in Oceanside and south to San Diego. But traffic in that corridor is a part of the bargain.

Escondido is Spanish for "Parking Lot" Del Dios is the only way around it if your lucky. Deer Springs Road will help if the traffic is above the 78. (I've seen it happen)

Where are you going to get into the mass traffic?

Nah you are pretty much hosed. It's fun hey? I work with a guy who lives in Temecula, he leaves his house at 4:30am to beat the traffic, goes to a gym, works out, buys coffee and gets to work about 7:30. Works all day, then anohter 90min+ to get home. Goes to sleep about 9pm and it all starts again.

Not much of a life but many do it. The alternative is taking your Temecula house and adding another $300k to it in order to get the same thing closer in.

There is the 5 that is parallel but u still have 2 take the 15 2 one of the highways or u can go through Da Luz which is a windy road and not a freeway or the last option is 2 go up and around which takes longer but other than that u r stuck w/the 15,sorry. Welcome 2 trafficula!!!!!!!!!
