Corona Hills (McKinley exit of 91) is very nice and is only 9 miles to OC border, Yorba Linda precisely. YL household income is higher than Newport Beach and is a very nice place. Right now a home in Corona Hills is half price compared with the same home in Yorba Linda 9 miles away!!...I understand the traffic but to pay double for the same thing 9 miles away I think makes YL overrated. Yorba linda has virtually same weather and same congested 91 Fwy....IMHO its the OC name that gives YL that special clout.

South Corona is a really nice area. I substuted at Orange Elementary in South Corona and it is one of my favorite elementary schools to sub at. Also, Citrus Hills Intermediate and Santiago High School are both excellent schools. I have subbed at Santiago and it is the nicest high school in South Corona.

do they still bus students to santiago? i attended that high school in the 90s when it was located at the citrus hills campus and they used to bus from all over the district. I am curious because I remember that some of the neighborhoods in corona stretch pretty far south, making a commute to santiago high school a pretty long one. are there any other high schools down that way? I want to say I remember a school called Temescal Canyon, but I don't remember what city it was in.

i think the biggest factor in deciding where to live in corona is where you and your husband will be working. If you will be working in OC or north of the 91, make sure to check commute patterns on the 15 before making your decision. Also, the 91 between OC and Corona is one of the worst commutes in the whole region. In fact, it is worse than many of the freeways in LA. You can trust me on this, I know from experience.

Temescal Canyon is almost where Glen Ivy is. Indian Hills or something like that. Don't remember for sure. As far as busing, not sure about that either. I just love Santiago because it really is a very nice school and the teachers are very friendly.

Is North Corona considered Norco (that is what Norco really means, which I learned after almost 10 years of living in Norco) I have to say, if you can get used to the cow smell, you will love Norco. I have been here almost 15 years. Some of the older neighborhoods, like where I live, have no mello-roos. The newer Norco neighborhoods do, though.

i was bummed when i found out that country cookin went out of business. i used to live off 6th and the 15 and would go there often. norco was a bit nicer when there was more rural land though. kind of sad how built out the area has become

One of my best friends lives in Corona Hills, just north of the 91 freeway. He has lived there since the late 90s when his subdivision was built. He loves it. He said he would not choose south Corona for one reason: Traffic.

Sure it is bad in that entire area anyway. But the southeastern portion of Corona is a bit isolated. The 15 fwy is pretty much the only way in and the only way out. On any given weekday morning it looks like the parking lot at Staples Center during a Laker game. Sierra Del Oro is further west and has better freeway access. And if you have to commute everyday that may be just as important as shopping access.

But still south Corona is a very nice. I have friends there also. I have spent many summer days in a couple of backyards down there. You will like the neighborhood.

Corona Hillls is 92879 and is north of 91 at McKinley. Incredible shopping from Costco, HomeDepot, all sorts of restaurants, gyms etc and last but not least very close to 91, It takes me 20 minutes from McKinley to Katella in the city of Orange in Orange County....

It's probably the worst bottleneck in the United States. That thing is ridiculous with traffic!
