I was wondering if anyone that lives in the Big Bear area has had heart problems (my husband had a heart attack about a year ago) and if they have a hard time with the altitude. I read conflicting reports on the dangers or lack thereof so I thought it would be good to ask anyone who has heart problems and lives there. We really want to move to Big Bear but if it is to risky we want to know. Thanks!

Not that I personally know of! Now breathing problems, as in the need of oxygen I could easily see a problem. I know people who have lived up in Big Bear after heart problems with no ill effects. It is a question I would ask your hubbys Dr. just to be on the safe side! I'll be honest, I would think just living in such a lovely place would be a whole lot easier on the heart then living in the city! I haven't heard about elevation causing a problem with the heart!! Good luck and chase your dreams!
