I'm in need of a site/resource that has listings for rentals within the SoCal area. More specifically San Bernardino and Riverside communities. Palmdale would be a start. I've searched the web all day at work and the sites I locate are either lacking detail (abliet free) or they want me to pay. Any suggestions. Commuting is not an issue as I currently live outside of Houston and commute 1 hour and 15 min to and from work. If all else fails I have a spot in downtown Los Angeles or the company will allow me to telecommute 3 days a week from home if I go to the San Francisco office. Opinions on all aspects are welcome and apreciated.

Also, what are the gun laws like there. I currently poses my CHL and I'm allowed to carry anywhere except banks, etc...

I've found that googling 'property management companies' and then your city is very helpful. Once I get to the prop management site, they'll have a complete list there of the rentals they manage that are currently available. I know craigslist is sometimes a pain, sometimes you can get prop. management web addresses there and then find real listings, vs. looking at actual craigslist rentals, which are too often not for real. The idea of renting a place that has a management company contracted by the property owner is a good one for several reasons, not the least of which are that your maintenance issues will get resolved quickly and your deposit will get returned when you move out. Good luck .

Thanks for the quick reply. Since I'm a single male, 25 what other areas would you recommend that are quite close to clubbing, other activities that young adults partake in?

I am probably not the best person to answer this, as I am old and married and have three kids . My going-out was in Dallas back in the day and then in San Diego and its northern suburbs. I've only had family-oriented fun in the IE....unless you count going to the wineries, which is for grown-ups and I have done here in Temecula. I'll let someone else help you with clubs and such! What kind of $ were you looking to spend for rent? That might help someone narrow down your choices....

I can afford up to $2100/month but I would definitely like to be south of $2000/month as much as possible.
