I like to poke around for vintage junk/treasures....any swaps out that way that have the old junk?

I don't want the type of swap that has the socks and cheap clothes...I want the old junk! LOL

Any ideas folks?

I'm a girl, so don't send me to any REALLY rough areas, ok?

We don't have any rough areas in Palm Desert.

I don't know of any places in Palm Desert where you are going to get old stuff, except for maybe a consignment or thrift shop, and you will probably have better luck finding what you are looking for in Palm Springs. We have the College of the Desert Street Fair, but it is a lot of new stuff.

If you're willing to make a 2 hour drive to the east, visit Quartzsite, AZ (on I-10). It's the biggest flea market/swap meet I've ever seen. It will take you about 2 days to see everything. Quartzsite, Arizona

Default The beaumont swap is GREAT for what you asked!

I have been to the Beaumont swap meet a few times, before I moved to Washington. My favorite part was the kindness of the vendors. Though there aren't many they all have delightful arrays of junk. I've purchased old fabric & linens, 1800's photographs, vintage toys and ephemera there.
It's right off the freeway and there's a trucker diner place at that exit with something like 100 omelets on the menu.
Junk and estate sales in that area are pretty cool as well.

happy hunting!

We'll be doing them every week as long as the weather holds out. I'm
not trying to duplicate the big swaps, but making them more like an
old-fashioned country swap where people bring their own and handmade
stuff to sell. We won't have food booths this week, maybe in the
future, but right now I'm not sure we'll have the space.

The address is 54750 North Circle Dr., Idyllwild, CA 92549 (951) 650-3191 (The Chakra Shack)
Here's our list of themes:

September 25: Vintage and Collectibles Swap (other stuff too!)
October 2nd: Artists Swap Meet: Art, art supplies, craft materials
October 9th: Children's Book Fair & Clothing and Toy Swap
October 16th: Tech and Tech Books Swap--bring your unwanted computer
and electronics to swap, sell, or give away.
October 23rd: Fall Arts and Crafts Fair
October 30: Clothing Swap

Booths are just $20--bring your own table, pop-up, etc. Spaces are approx 8x8 to fit a table or pop up.
