All I can say is "rethink". I moved here 5 years ago and have been trying to leave ever since. The weather is horrible in my opinion. Windy almost every day. They call it "Blowmont" for a reason. Dry. Extremely dry. Hot 6-8 months out of the year. The sun is very intense. Stings the skin. The 10 freeway going through town produces bad air with fine particulates and ozone which both are hazardeous to your health. If you like hot, dry and windy climates it might be the place for you. No shopping here at all. You have to go to Hemet or Redlands. There is a Kohl's and a Walmart in Banning. Good luck. I lived in O.C. for 23 years. You're in for a shock.

I've lived in Beaumont for the past 10 years. Its like living in Hell! I pray I get out of here someday. At least before I die.
Actually its getting better every year-the people-not the weather.
When I first moved here it was very strange. Mulit-generational Beaumontians.
With such an increase in population we have a whole new influx of people, which is really helping out.
So the bottom line is theres nothing to do. Its tooo HOT!.
The kids have nothing to do. Either do the adults, unless you like to drink beer in your front yard, with your yapping chiuaha dogs, and the hispanic music.
Wind is not anywhere as bad as it used to be.
Do not move here unless its your last choice.

The rumor for sometime now (10 years at least) that Metro Link were planning to extend it's service as far as Palm Springs.
So far nothing has taken place.
Last year "2014" plans were made to modernize the Amtrac depot in down town San Bernardino.
I have road Metro link for many years to Baldwin Park to work, so I know about their plans by discussing it with many of the conductors.
Recently in mid 2014 there was a hold placed on the project and no of the ground breaking did not occur.

Currently, there is a Metro Link line from Perris, California to town down Riverside that might work for anyone in that part of the I.E.

I'm keeping my fingers cross for the line to Palm Springs.
Anyone who has a home, condo or townhouse, NOW would not be the time to sell.
If Metro Link and Amtrak finally get their act together you can rest assure the ridership will be fabulouse.
By the way, do you know for $10.00 you can ride Metro Link during the weekend to wherever metro link goes.
Not long ago you could ride Metro Link for the whole weekend on just $10.00!!
Now it's $10.00 per weekend day.
A nice way to Travel to Oceanside if you want to get away from the I.E. for the weekend!!
