Yeah, if I look hard enough, there are probably a dozen or so cities in the country that have the same demographics and easy to find stats.

The differences that matter...

Temecula's old town is actually vibrant, fun, and has plenty of night life for all ages. There is a local music scene most weekends, especially in the summer. There are clubs, dance halls, and all kinds of dining options. People hop from place to place and the streets are filled with people socializing. Murrieta has nothing like this at all. The car show that happens here 2x per year is one of the better hot rod showings in socal. They also have a brand new play theater and actually it is booking more and more shows.

Temecula has all the wineries, dining, and resorts in wine country and the balloon and wine festival as well as more horse property to the east which is still relatively close in location to the amenities.

Temecula has Pechanga casino which besides the obvious has some good entertainment and shows.

Temecula has the mall and all the surrounding dining and entertainment. There are too many places to list, but trust me the dining in Temecula is far superior and has many more options. There is a Sam's club in Murrieta that is always dead. Everyone in the valley shops at Costco in Temecula.

Murrieta has been known to have sold out to the developers much more than Temecula. It seems as if there are more parks in Temecula.

If you want to live in Murrieta great, it is very similar. I like the dining and entertainment options in Temecula and never find myself going to Murrieta for those things.

Ohh..
Murrieta has Chuck E Cheese's, a very tacky Jewelry Castle, and cowardly traffic cameras their horribly designed Murrieta Hot Springs Rd. in which the lights are never synced.
That is absolutely absurd. You think that people living in Murrieta can't enjoy what Temcula has to offer? I can get to anywhere in Temecula in 15 minutes.

You're seriously trying to prove that Murrieta and Temecula, two cities in such close geographic proximity with the same demographics are completely different on the basis of big box stores and a feeble "Old Towne"?

There are the same number of parks in both cities. They both have had the same growth trajectory, so how exactly did Murrieta "sell out"?

I'm just saying it's really disingenuous to portray them as VERY distinctly different cities. On a day to day basis, they are exactly the same.

Right, because it's essentially only half a block with bad parking.

The exchanges here have become too personal, and since the thread was initiated two years ago it seems rather pointless to just keep going until someone gets in the last word.
