I'm currently up in the San Fernando Valley area, but our leases are coming up soon and we'd like to relocate somewhere cheaper. We were originally thinking of going out of state to an area with lower taxes/cost of living (e.g., Texas), but I'm not sure if we can handle all the logistics of an out of state move right now.

Anyhow, we have been researching the inland empire. So far Temecula seems like a decent choice, but the rents are still a bit high there (though, around 25% cheaper than here). Any other cities in the area that are business friendly and safe, but have cheaper rents? With the exception of the heat, Apple Valley seems okay?

Some on here would recommend Murrieta. I'm not very familiar (although my brother in law lives there...just no personal experience), but it might be worth a look.

Murrieta and Temecula seem similar in terms of business, although Murrieta actually has a small city tax where as Temecula does not. They are similar in price though, I'm hoping to find an area that is even cheaper.

I wouldn't discount the possibility of Fontana. That's where I have my trucking related business. I feel quite safe here, much safer than I do when in the Victorville area.
