Hi. My husband and I are looking to buy our first home. We want something newer to avoid all of the headaches that older homes bring. If i had the money i would buy in San Dimas but thats not gona happen. anyway, there are some houses that we like in the Ontario and Mira Loma area. we are not very familiar with these citites so we would like to get some input.
The house in Mira Loma is situated near Hamner & 65th st.
The house in Ontario is in Creekside community near Haven & Riverside.

We have 2 children 5yrs & 5months and my husband works long hours so i want to live in an area where i'll feel safe and not have to watch over my shoulder when im out shopping with my babies.

How are the schools out there?
Which of the 2 cities would you consider the Safest?
What areas of both cities to stay away from?

Thanks.

That location is actually within the city of Eastvale. Mira Loma isn't a city, it's a CDP, for the time being at least.

Census Designated Place, in other words, not incorporated.

I lived West of Creekside for 3 years. Just know that from Oct. to May the wind can blow extremely hard. We lost our roof, spa covering and fence...All the dirt from Creekside got in our house too..It's a very windy area and once you get past Euclid heading towards Chino, it slows down...There were times walking in that wind was hard....You might want to reconsider areas...

That area is probably the nicest part of Ontario but I still wouldn't call it nice. It should be fairly safe but I would not want to send my kids to the Ontario public schools. Eastvale isn't bad but I would recommend looking further south in Corona and even east of the 15. What is your house budget?

Try searching this forum for "Eastvale" and you should get a bunch of results.

Eastvale is actually a new and growing town with a lot of construction going on. This includes new homes being developed on the west end, and more shopping around 15/Limonite, east side. There is a lot of activity as the older homeowners are moving out due to foreclosures and new people moving in because of the bargains. This will probably go on for a few years. A lot of parks and young families have been moving in the area.

Eastvale has HUGE HOA and/or Mello Roos. Look into that when you speak with an agent.
