I'm not a geologist either but if the san andreas was releasing small quakes then that possibly may be letting out pressure, but the fault is doing absolutely nothing. I've been watching in the USGS site and no activity except on surrounding faults. the scietists keep saying that these are all aftershocks but some of them are on a different fault meaning the easter quake fault put pressure on all surrounding faults. after that easter quake geologists even said on the news that it was putting pressure on it, but they keep saying that doesn't mean anything will happen. I think they only say that so that people won't panic. just my two cents.

I agree with you. The San Andreas Fault has not done a thing yet all the faults around it have become hyper-active. This will put pressure on it for sure. Considering that the San Andreas is about 300 years overdue this is a problem.

I also forgot to add that the Elsinore fault is at high risk too! it runs along Julian and Palomar and then up into Riverside! There is also the Imperial Fault and San Jacinto faults that are capable of large quakes. I am most worried about the San Andreas and Elsinore though.

Or they're *relieving* pressure. No way to know.

If other faults are relieving pressure on that part of the San Andreas, then their building it on another. It's generally believed that neighboring faults put pressure on another fault.

remaining positive is a great way to divert your mind from the truth!

Also, I noticed that with both the easter quake and the 5.7, I could hear it seconds before it came. It sounded like a stampede was running down the street then it started shaking.

It's louder when you're near the fault and one of those hits.

There's many youtube videos that were posted way before 2010 that predict a major erathquake this year on the san andreas fault. I watched one where it showed bible codes that said san andreas and 2010. It was uploaded in 2006. I find these prediction videos creepy because so far they seem to indicate that they might be true.

yes I said they are creepy because they are really creepy. I felt like I was being brainwashed by a cult or something lol. but seriously yes, what it said seems to back up what we've been talking about on this thread.
