My husband and I are w/out a car and live in North Park. Any suggestions what to do/where to go in San Diego on the 4th of July? Thanks!

Can you get a ride / taxi or are you confined to North Park?

@cruitr Yes, it's possible.
Also, though it has nothing to do w/4th of July, but I'm just looking into beaches... especially Coronado beach...sounds lovely, but was wondering if I can rent beach umbrellas and maybe chairs there?

Coronado would be a great place to go on the 4th. The beach will probably be very crowded. I don't think I've seen chair or umbrella rentals on any of our beaches.

I think Mission Beach has a couple of rental places. I'm excited to see and enjoy Coronado Beach.

We are debating on dragging the RV down to MB since it might be "June gloomed" out this year. Usually we watch from the deck but it might be foggy this year.

If you want to go "against the flow", I'd recommend going to Lake Miramar. There's a viewpoint there where you can have a 180 degree unobstructed view for 20 miles...and you won't have to deal with the clusterf*ck traffic in PB, Mission Beach, or Seaworld, where 75% of the people from SD seem to go.

Funny,
I was thinking about venturing out to Mission Bay and park the pickup somewhere with a good view. Going to pull out the lawn chairs and cooler in the bed of the truck and watch the fireworks. Traffic is going to be a bear. Heck I know of some house foreclosures wiht great views...
