I am an old disabled guy who lives out of state and who has my eye on a couple mobile homes in Oceanside to live, three actually. I have enough money to buy a mobile home, and after paying the space rent each month will have enough of my small disability check to live on. So would appreciate some help, since I am all alone now with no living relatives or family to bounce ideas off of. Will appreciate any and all thoughts. Thanks so much.

1. The first is only 2 blocks from beach near the pier at 900 Cleveland St in a secure gated small mobile home park with the lower rents (rent control) of the three. I am leaning away from that one even though living right by the ocean walks and harbor sights and restaurants would be great. I am afraid the fog and overcast skies might be too depressing, cold, and damp for me. I really cherish sunshine. It is great for my arthritis and depression. Am I thinking clearly on this one?

2. So besides that one, which sounds so tempting really, I have narrowed my search to the Rancho San Luis Rey Mobile Park right by Hwy 76 and El Camino Real. Sounds like that would be away from the early fogs and close to highway for quick drive to the pier and harbor area of Oceanside.

3. The other is right off Hwy 78 between Sunset Dr and Lake Blvd in the Rancho Calevero Mobile Park, which would be an equally quick drive to the beach, Carlsbad, and even San Diego via the train. This park appears it backs up to a large park area of some sort with trails running all through it. My service dog might love that if it were the case.

So, any thoughts on those three areas especially 2 and 3.

#2: I don't think you would be far away enough to escape the morning fogs (I'm just a mile or two away from El Camino Real).

#3 You might just barely escape the fog and the trails sound nice

Are both areas equally nice and safe? And what about traffic and getting around to places.....about the same?

I'm not a fan of the 76 and it's traffic. I'm not exactly sure about #3 and it's location but I have found that South of the 78 is generally okay in that area and the traffic isn't too much of a concern. I can't tell you about the crime in either place though.
