Hi. I just moved to San diego. I'm a young, female professional. I've looked at a couple of places in mission valley and like the area. I liked Prado apartments locaed on rancho mission road. (San Diego California Apartments - Home - Prado Apartments). Yet, it seems like all the reviews online are negative, complaining of the smell, noise, car theft, management, etc. Anyone have any thoughts on the Prado? Does anyone recommend other places in Mission valley? I'm looking for a one bedroom in a safe area. price range: 900-1100. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I know a few people living at Prado and they have had no complaints. I live a few blocks down the hill from Prado and we like the area and have no problems or heard of anything major in the area in terms of crime.

The noise, and car thefts are more associated with the area up by the La Mirage complex which is secluded on top of their own hill top and are typically occupied by the college crowd.

For other suggestions in the area check out this thread:

In terms of property managment, it is highly subjective an usually you will only hear when there are complaints. I personally recommend trying to find a private owner of a condo and renting from them.

Thanks! Yeah.. the property looked really great, but all the reviews online seemed negative, so I wanted a second opinion. Thanks again!
