Is it practical to think I could commute from North Park to Chula Vista? I am not familiar with the area and looking for neighborhoods that I may enjoy. I am looking for something pedestrian friendly, older homes, diverse in people, music, things to do. So far North Park seems to fit but again, I am not familiar with the area so I may be way off base here. Do you know of anything closer to Chula Vista that I should look at? Thanks so much for any input!

You'll be fine. The commute going the other direction can be pretty bad, but you'd be going the opposite of traffic. Think 10-15 minutes each way.

Sounds like a good plan to me, and I can't think of anyplace "closer to CV" that would meet your criteria. Traffic would be a piece of cake.
