Build the stadium now! You anti stadium people want a reason? How about when a bartender or a foodserver can buy extra christmas presents for thier family because the Chargers were home and they had a busy day! Do you anti stadium peeps think that if a new stadium is built you will have to really write a check?!!!

The Chargers arent going anywhere. Why would the NFL and the Spanos family want to leave a city like San Diego? LA is an over crowded toilet bowl.
The fan base here is strong and getting stronger. I know there have been blackouts, but that is a sign of the DEPRESSION we are in. Even when there is a blackout there are still over 60,000 fans showing up. Its not like the Jaguars where 30,000 show. The NFL would be STUPID to turn its back on a city like San Diego.

Also why would the Spanos family want to partner up/SHARE MORE OF THE PROFITS/ with someone just to move an hour and a half away? They will make more money if they can make a stadium in San Diego work and that is the bottom line. That is why they didnt leave years ago!

San Diego deserves a team, Jacksonville does not, heck Oakland doesn't. They had 11 straight blackouts before their last game, don't tell me they are good, loyal fans, not only do the Raiders usually blackout, but they get like 30-40k a game, pathetic. We blackout, but we get 60k every single game, we deserve our team

Orrrrrrrrrrr

rather than hanging out in a bar maybe they could support other businesses on Sunday instead. Most people don't watch football, face it.

As much as I like football I know it's a special interest for a special interest group. Spanos needs to pick up the tab. He can build a stadium any day he wants.

Per the Mark Fabiani interview on xx1090
Link: http://www.xxsportsradio.com/pages/audiovault09

Mark mentioned that if you want to do something about keeping the stadium in San Diego, you should contact the Mayors office and city council members and let them know that you want them to work on the stadium issue. He doesn't recommend demanding that they build a stadium, just that you express interest in them getting the stadium issue resolved.

So do it.

The links are much appreciated.

All constituents should make their voices heard.

I have sent my input:

Please count my household as being against the use of any public funds for the sake of building a stadium for the Chargers, or any other sports team for that matter.
As a small business owner I am responsible for all my overhead expenses. If I cannot make my business work while covering my expenses then I go out of business. Why should professional sports be any different? Let them take care of their own overhead, just like any other private business. Perhaps then the salaries they pay their players will be more like those paid to teachers and other professionals.
Thank you.

I'm fine if the Charges stay, I'm fine if the Chargers go, I'm not fine with Spanos continually trying to steal hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars. Plenty of franchises have paid for their own stadium and Spanos could as well if he wanted to but he prefers to try to sucker taxpayers into subsidizing him. Screw that and I don't want to see a penny of public funds go into such a money pit.

That's low, so low. It has spread like wildfire to all Charger fans. Surely, more Chargers fans have spoken then people against it.

I believe the people against it should grow up. A new stadium can be used for World Cup, Super Bowl and other events which would help nearby businesses and hotels.

Grow up? I'd say most of the people against giving away almost a billion dollars in tax payer money are grown up though your side seems to be filled with children in adult bodies who don't understand cost and who still give a damn about childish games.

What does the average joe get out of this? Nothing other then the bill. When local school budgets get cut, police fired, libraries closed, and none of the potholes in the roads get fixed then I hope people remember it's because instead of dealing with such basics of government it's because we decided to give another billion dollars to subsidize a billionaire who doesn't need it. There are at least two new stadiums in the last few years which were completely paid for by the team owners without any public money used; Spanos could do the same so let's make him stand on his own two feet without constantly trying to suck from the tax payer's t!t.
