my family wants to drive from san diego to the desert for wildflower photos in march. From the threads it sounds like the road to A-Borrego park are rough. My sister likes Palm springs. Since it is for the flower photos, are there any nice areas around Palm Springs you would recommend?
Any recommendations on a Condo type of place to stay?

The roads from San Diego to Borrego Springs are not at all rough. And Borrego Springs is a good starting place for a wildflower hunt.

March may be too late. Start monitoring: Desert Wildflower report Anza Borrego Desert State Park by DesertUSA

When you get to Borrego Springs, stop in at either the state park visitor center Anza-Borrego Desert SP or else the Anza Borrego Natural History Assn headquarters ABDNHA: Your Guide to the Anza-Borrego Desert , and ask them where the flowers are. They'll ask you what sort of vehicle you have, and direct you to the best places.

One of the good wildflower areas is along Henderson Canyon Road, which is paved and easy to get to. That area alone is worthy of a day trip out east. Combine that with a stop at the state park visitor center/museum, and it's a good road trip.

A place we've stayed at in Borrego Springs, and liked, is the Palm Canyon Resort; http://www.palmcanyonresort.com/
