I am having a great degree of problems with the oceanside code enforcement. I think they have ties to some of the business owners and they let some get away with ongoing violations of the code, making other residents suffer physicaly and emotionally. It sux.

City employees that fine you for stuff on your own property, trash cans in view between selected hours...anything that is in their code book.

Some people believe a select few of the employees have their own political agenda based on their years of experience dealing with the city.

On my street, I've mainly notice that residents are treated different even though the code is the same...I have been fined for having my trash cans out before 6 pm the day before p/up when my neighbor typically place their trash cans out 2 days prior without a fine.

I hope that answers your question.

scottg,

I totally agree with you. It sad that a city is given so much power to make residents suffer physically and emotionally. Life is hard enough some times without worrying over trivial stuff like trash cans. One of our fines were issued when my husband was rushing me to the hospital for emergency blood transfusion. The officers even left us a threating voice mail. It is really sad.

I live in the tri-city area and many people rent out their homes. Several families live in one residential home. Is this legal? They also block the side walks because of so many vehicles. Some resident homes have as many as seven cars. What can be done?

My residence is thru winchester management, and subsidized by hud thru section 8, because of harassment i researched the property. It is a converted garage, it is being used as a rental, it is not tax acessed, it dosent exist according to the tax acessors office. So there is $995.oo in someones pocket tax free. Also it is recorded as ownwr occupied in the main unit since 2002, where the owner or some one is claiming a $7000.00 a year tax exemption. My unit has never passed any inspection, because it never had one or permits. The main unit [owner occupied?], so that rent is..... Where is $1700.00 a month going, not in the tax acessore records. Yes and by the way $745.00 of the rent on my unit is federally funded. Gee! Maybe all of this is why they want me out! cowboyup760@hotmail.com.
