Hi all. I'm from Pittsburgh but will be in San Diego on Friday-Monday for my cousin's wedding. Saturday evening is my only obligation so I'm looking to rent a road bike and do some exploring and hopefully go for a nice long training ride. A couple questions, though:

Where are some good places to rent a road bike (no beach cruisers or hybrids) near the Howard Johnson on Rosecrans Street? I'd like to find a place close-ish to the hotel but if there's nowhere nearby it's not a huge issue.

Can anyone point me to a cycling-specific message board, website, or even a map of the area?

And, not cycling related, where should I go for fish tacos?

Thanks in advance. I'm looking forward to the weekend there and have a feeling I'm not going to want to come back to Pittsburgh's

This bike shop is about a mile from your hotel: Moment Cycle Sport San Diego's Road and Tri Bike Experts

They rent well-maintained bikes at decent prices. There are a few nice ride maps on their website.

A good friend of mine lives in Wexford. His wife & kids won't let him visit me because they're afraid he'll never come back.

Thanks, I'll check that out.

I grew up very close to Wexford, and worked there a couple of years ago. It's not a very fun place to be.

Ended up renting from Stay Classy Bikes. Not sure where they're located, but it doesn't matter because they're dropping the bike off at my hotel before I arrive and picking it up once I leave. $70 for the entire weekend for a Specialized Allez with SPD pedals, u-lock, pump, patch kit, tools. Super friendly, recommended to me by a guy at Velo Cult (a shop I'm going to try to find and stop by).

Basically, I'm really excited for this weekend. Even if it is going to rain, I'm going to ride (Pittsburgh snow and winter weather primes you for almost anything).
