Valentines for their Tacos Al Pastor...HUGE and yummy, ('cept for the millions of teenie tiny pieces of cillantro I have to pick off because I forgot to omit AGAIN when ordering).

In N. County, I think it's now a Roberto's - we just call it "the train" because it's in a converted train car... it's in San Marcos - just off the corner of Palomar Airport Road & Rancho Santa Fe. Has great shredded beef tacos. Kinda greasy, but not heavy greasy, if that makes any sense.

And, I was very skeptical at first, but Wahoo Tacos in Encinitas (towne center) has great shredded pork rolled tacos. Very light & crispy, more like a Mexican-ish spring roll.

Santana's (in Pt. Loma and San Marcos) has a good breakfast (the "buenas dias") burrito.

AWFUL!!!

Way to salty and the sauce was pretty much water.
You may not have eat at Wahoo Fish Tacos. There is another free-standing Taco shop located in the parking lot in front of Wahoo.

Wahoo is in the corner of the strip mall, a few doors down from Longs Drug Store. It's more of an "Americanized" restaurant (decorated with surfboards, etc) rather than an actual Mexican restaurant, but they have excellent Fish Tacos.

"It's A Taco Shop" is located in the parking lot in front of Wahoo Fish Tacos. I drove past it this weekend. Wahoo Fish Tacos are great. You should give them a try.

Also, thanks for saving me a few bucks. I thought about trying "Its A Taco Shop", and now I won't bother.

I haven't been to too many Taco Shops, but I like one called "Kotija" (or so) in Escondido, close to the Vons & Launderland laundry place + the library. It doesn't look really nice inside (not dirty though), but the food is very good (especially the chicken enchiladas) and it's not expensive.

If your talking about the one that had that fatal shooting last year.It was good too.I was there the next afternoon and Homicide was like "Did you see anything?"
I was confused.I had no idea what they where talking about.I was in the OC over night and I told them I live in the SBay.I remember the detective saying something like "Enjoy Your Quesadilla plate", which I did and came back later that week for another plate.

I think it's funny that whenever a "Roberto's" gets taken over by a new non-Roberto's owner, they simply change the name by one or two letters.

There is a "Rayberto's" (formerly Roberto's) next door to Keil's Supermarket on Clairemont Drive, in Clairemont. You can still see the letter "o" beneath where they changed it to an "ay".

And now "Rolberto's??? I guess it was just easier to squeeze in an "l" into the name, rather than purchase a brand new sign.

The 'bertos thing is a trend. Not all of them were originally Robertos. Robertos just happened to be the first.

There are
Robertos
Rolbertos
Filibertos
Halbertos
Humbertos
Adalbertos
Rigobertos
etc....
