Kind of splitting hairs there, Filipinos are Asian.

According to Wikipedia, Filipino's make up about 25% of California's Asian population which is a right below Chinese, the largest Asian group. And according to the 2000 census Mira Mesa was about 38% Asian with 20.7% being Filipino. In SD County, Filipino's make up 4.5% of the total population versus 27% for Mexicans.

I'm half Filipino and half Mexican. I feel that Plaza Blvd in National City is the most Filipino part of SD, more so than Mira Mesa.

Great, one area for me to avoid, that Tagalog talk irritates the hell out of me, sounds like pure jabbering to me.

Sorry, not 50% of California's Asian population, but 50% of San Diegos. Source: The Paradox of Assimilation: Children of Filipino Immigrants in San Diego -- Yen Espiritu - Research & Seminars | Migration Dialogue

And when the name "Manilla Mesa" was coined, it was done so for Filipinos, not Asians in general, hence the name "Manilla"

Yes. I grew up there. It always made me laugh.

How about Rancho Skinnypenis?

Does that count as a portmanteau?

Or Escondildo?

Pluralized, a portmanteaux, ooh la la!
