I've never heard of anyone using one of these companies, but I'm of the mind that if it's too good to be true, it probably is. If you're really interested in pursuing this route try contacting the BBB, getting references, and maybe even contacting a real estate lawyer to look over the contract before you sign it. Listing a home for sale while you're living in it can be inconvenient, but you also don't want some sleazy company taking advantage of you either.

House Buying Companies
As a Realtor who has been in the business 23 years, I am telling you, DO NOT get involved with these companies!!! I have never once seen anyone come out ahead dealing with them...they are basically preying on desperate sellers or people that really don't know all the details of a home selling transaction. Don't know your personal situation but you may want to entertain the following if you truly need to sell at this time: FSBO-For Sale by Owner but cooperate with a Realtor by paying a % commission if they bring you a ready, willing and able buyer (saves you from paying out a full commission and benefits the Realtor who has quite possibly been working very hard on behalf of his buyer), rent your property with an option to buy within a mutually determined time frame (3 - 5 years) and price.......but whatever you do, DO NOT get involved with these "house buying" companies.....they are in the business for a reason...$$$$ and it's not to benefit you!
