Dang, this thread may never end... all good though, as this is a good one...

You know you're an SD native (or at least have been here quite awhile), when...

1) you remember when Indian Casino Gambling didn't exist.
2) Tony Gwynn unquestionably is your favorite Baseball Player.
3) You know who Shotgun Tom Kelly is.
4) You remember the pyscho Tank Incident.
5) You know where "Blanca's Bazaar" is located, ("hint: concerts and boxing events, etc)
6) You think Roger Hedgecock is a Dork.
7) You wonder why the city coffers are broke but streets, infrastructure, schools, libraries, etc. still need money (SD is still awesome though...)
8) When you think of Crystal Pier, you immediately think of the "huge storm" in the early 1980's.
9) You remember when Valley Center wasn't even on the proverbial "map".
10) You've been to Tijuana more than once or twice in the past year.
11) You decided to learn Spanish as a second language because in school, you realized that German and French wouldn't be quite as important...

Well if you're over 35 - the mention of the old Simon & Simon TV detective series from the 80's gives you pause. And you can visualize Jamison Parker and Gerald McRaney as they looked back then in those respective roles. And you can remember their respective character names in those roles.

You know what it means when two guys are walking together in Hillcrest.
You still call the San Diego County Fair the 'Del Mar fair.'
You don't measure distance in miles, but in the amount of time it takes you to get there.
You know what the 'Merge' is, and will plan your entire day around not being in it at Rush Hour.
When you know when to avoid Stadium hill.
The weather is makes fun of other parts of the country's weather more than it predicts it.
You know what micro-climates are.
You know what the Santa Ana's are, and that they have nothing to do with the city of Santa Ana.
Every street is in Spanish, or is Spanish related, and you're suprised when other's cities aren't the same.
When you're visiting another part of the country and your friends take you out to dinner to a 'really good mexican food place' and you're not impressed.
Your idea of a white christmas is the sand at the beach.
Your high school has a surf team.
Your house is worth more than some small countries.
You have a favorite - the WAP or the Zoo.
Your house has no air conditioning, and you don't think it's wierd.
You live on, near, or are surrounded by hills.
If the menu doesn't have California Burritos on it, forget it - it's not real mexican food.
You tell non-San Diegans how good fish tacos are, and they think you're disgusting.
You remember when living on Euclid ment you lived in a good part of town.

Especially for women, and on a darker note ...

You'll get a shiver down your spine from the name "Craig Peyer", and you may not want to pull over when directed to do so by law enforcement.

You may remember what campus organization became known as "The Rape Fraternity" at San Diego State, and the particular crime that made this frat notorious.

Your grandfather reminds you that Mission Valley used to be a dairy farm. And you know ancestors of peope who streets are named after. Marron in Oceanside. This family owned a tremendous amount of land from the coast all the way inland. The father died and the mother owed $1,400 in back taxes. She lost it for $1,400. Can you imagine?
