Are there any significant areas of open-space in coastal San Diego County?

I'm curious about this also...for potential dual sporting areas. It looks like the area south of Imperial Beach (between IB and the border) is wilderness/open space type area, but on Google Maps some of it is labeled as State Parks.

What's your definition of "open space"? Do you mean un-owned space? If so then no, there isn't any. Lots of it is parks and rec land, though.

Well, speaking for coastal North County:
Torrey Pines Nature Reserve (La Jolla/Del Mar)
San Elijo Lagoon (Cardiff/Solana Beach)
Elfin Forest Nature Trail (east of San Marcos)
San Dieguito Park (Solana Beach)

Just to name a few ...
