I need some help with finding out about the nice areas to move to in San Diego or its outskirts. Looking for nice single family homes for rent. WHat are some names of suburban areas around San Diego.

once the above is answered, I am sure people can help. In general, housing prices are anywhere from double (to rent) to triple++ (to buy) cost than Tampa-(used to live there, so I know)

Another question would be what do you consider nice? Some people consider only new and fancy nice. I live in a mid-century modern tract home south of University and am happy as a clam while others would say they wouldn't set foot in my neighborhood, because it is south of University, or South of Freeway 8 or East of Frwy 805, too old etc. One woman's happy place is somebody else's UGH.

well the crime is deplorable in much of Tampa. So probably most of SD will be a walk in park in comparison.

So true. We were there earlier this year. We were in a nice part of town but what I was amazed at was just all the businesses that were out of business. We drove around several sections of town that their windows all boarded up or signs saying they were out of business.

It was depressing.
