Looking on the internet the reviews are not that great, but then again it's much more easier to bash than praise the service offered in a shop and all the reviews are for shops not in San Diego.

Looking to get some dings and scratches out and a total car paint job but want the best bang for my buck ... the dealerships are just robbers and some of the local body shops I asked around are asking for quite a bit.

So I'm hoping to get first hand local reviews for the Maaco's around town ... if you used them please let me know what out thought about their service. If you know of any other decent paint shops in town that won't rip you off, I would also like to know.

I've seen many second hand reviews so if your experience is second hand, please refrain from posting a response ... really looking for first hand experience.

Thanks!

Yes, there are a few Maaco's around town. Earl Scheib's too. Check yelp.com for reviews.

I've had some minor body/paint work done at La Jolla Auto Body. The place looks like a dump but they did a good job.

If you are happy with a cheap paint job then go south of the border as they are as good or better.

A cheap paint job is exactly what it sounds like.

A $2000 paint job may cost more but the person paying for one will love it more than a cheap one.
