This has been an on-going "issue" for at least 10 years.Maybe longer than that. From gangs,to drunks,to theft, robberies you name it,it can be found in OB,PB,and MB.I'm pretty sure everyone has heard about the "2007 PB Beach Brawl"(aka SD Beach Riot-Sept 3rd,07)So what is your overall thoughts on this subject?

I haven't been to PB or MB in years because of the meathead situation. It's like Spring Break in Daytona Beach every weekend down there.

Just read about it on SignonSanDiego. I'm not surprised at all. A full out riot in San Diego is rare, but a melee really isn't. JK, I'm sure you've seen that video of a gang fight in a San Diego club as well as the video of another fight in the parking lot of Qualcomm Stadium.

Anyway, 4th of July, Labor Day... always gets a huge crowd.

Sounds like alot of fights broke out yesterday. If this many were published, I wonder how many other fights there were all together.

The gang fight video is on YouTube. I found it somehow while searching 'San Diego'. The title is something like San Diego Bloods & Crips Fighting. You probably have to sign up because it's flagged for 18 & over.

EDIT: By the way, this beach riot has been getting some national attention.

What's there to say? Are you now suggesting that the police shouldn't have retaliated after having bottles and sand thrown at them by these scumbags? It was hot and there were hundreds of thousands of people on the beaches yesterday, you just knew that trouble was brewing. IMO, PB is probably the worst place to be during any holiday weekend (especially during summer).

Nobody said anything bad about the police.

I think there should of been more than 70 officers in riot gear though.

Yeah, that comment came out of no where. As for having more than 70 officers. All available uniformed officers where there, including the gang unit, K9 and traffic. To ease your mind a little (facetiously), those officers were pulled from each division which left the rest of the city lighter than it already was for staffing. I can guarantee that all divisions were at or below minimal staffing before this happened, which combined, is about 120 officers on the high end.

Sorry, I couldn't help but associate it with the other thread on here about the police being trigger happy.

This is why I chose to live in O.C.
It\'s a bit more phony, but it\'s worth avoiding the riff raff.
