My daughter is moving to El Cajon. She is looking at Colonnade at Fletcher Hills Apt. It looks like they have two complexes. One at 2950 Fletcher Pkwy and the other a block or two away at 2700 Chatham St. Is this area safe? Does anyone know anything about the 2700 Chatham St complex. It seems it is a smaller complex but no pool. She would be allowed to go to the other complex for the pool. Anything that you can tell me would help us. thanks Loretta

Great Area!
On the borderline between El Cajon/La Mesa
A lot of college age kids live there,as Grossmont College is down the street.
Surprisingly the complex stays very quite.
There are some car break in's on occasion in that area.
Just tell her not to leave valuables in her car and she will be just fine

That is a fantastic area. Good luck on the move. If you have any other apts in mind let me know. I pretty much know which streets are good and bad. Varies greatly block to block here in el cajon although no street is too bad. Your apartments whole neiborhood is excellent for what it's worth

You and Hitman619 have really helped us out, Thanks to the both of you. Is there anything she needs to know about the area or places to make sure she stays out of? LH

Honestly el cajon varies so much block to block overall. Fletcher hills is as nice as it gets here (as well as granite hills across town). As for here in the el cajon valley, no where is neccisarily dangerous. However some streets are worse than others. Nothing along broadway/fletcher parkway are too bad. The neiborhood I think is the worst in town overall is directly south of downtown el cajon stretching to Washington. Emerald, sunshine, van houten (my street) etc. even this area isn't dangerous but a lot of oddballs and lots of homeless around here. This area has some car break ins here and there (never happened to me).

Well, there's no registered sex offenders in either complex it appears. Always a plus.

This is right. I am one of those college age kids and I am very familiar with the area you are talking about. It's in a decent area. You should not have any problems. All the safety stuff is mostly just common sense stuff anyways. Good luck!
