Thanks odd, i can handle the cold, esp living in CHI warm for us this time of year is 30..... living in CA is very attractive but the cost of living still bothers me a bit. In comparision to CHI data showed is is 35% higher....

Actually, I know quite a few people who are younger and not into the drink til we puke scene who live in Ocean Beach.

The marine layer is something you will have to deal with. In June, if it's bad, you may see the sun for only an hour or two by the ocean.

Im sure there is tony, thats what we have here on lake michigan north ave beach. People boat, drive, train, bike from all over to be there during the summer..if we didnt have winters in chicago i would never consider leaving. There is still plenty to do here during winter, im just over it.....

I hear ya! (about the weather). I spent my first 30 years in Chicago. I have no desire to deal with that level of cold and snow any more. If I miss it, I'll drive an hour up to Mt. Laguna.

Just wanted to make sure you weren't having the "San Diego always has perfect weather" myth.
