We closed on the condo yesterday. I have the keys. I started moving things into the new place.

And the listing for the condo is still on Trulia.

The offer was accepted on January 31. So it's been close to a month and a half, and WE CLOSED.

But the listing is still there.

Do yourself a favor if you're looking for real estate. Go right to Sandicor.com instead of messing around with other sites. Then you don't waste your time looking at properties that are not available.

You know, like ones where the offer was accepted a month and a half ago and where the buyer has the keys and has started moving things in to the place?

Congrats on closing Tony! That's great. So rare to hear about people finding great places in this market so I always like hearing when people closing on their places. Congrats!

I NEVER use Trulia. I really love looking at real estate but always avoided Trulia. I really love Redfin and it was really helpful during my search. I also like Zillow. Not for the zestimates but they have more comprehensive price history vs. others.

Yeah, I didn't like Redfin because it kept bugging me to register. So I just went straight to the horse's mouth, so to speak.

As an aside, where the hell did that phrase come from?

Yeah, it can be annoying registering for those sites but I didn't mind as I always favorite properties that I came across that interested me. I still have a few hundred properties in my Redfin account.

Shmoov turned me on to SDLookup which was also helpful. I didn't like it as much as Redfin but I stopped using it once I got spam from the owner (realtor) asking if I was interested in using them.

Origin of straight from the horse's mouth:

In horse racing circles tips on which horse is a likely winner circulate amongst punters. The most trusted authorities are considered to be those in closest touch with the recent form of the horse, i.e. stable lads, trainers etc. The notional 'from the horse's mouth' is supposed to indicate one step better than even that inner circle, i.e. the horse itself.

Truilia is good only for retaining and comparing homes. We had hundreds bookmarked when we were looking. It was good for telling us if a home sold...BUT, you are right they never remove a listing. I can still find my house and we closed a year in April!

Ps. Congrats on closing and taking control over the new set of keys!

Congrats! When's the party ? I never used trulia. I preferred SDlookup and Redfin as search engines. SDlookup is fast -when the first contract with another buyer fell through on the place we bought, I knew within a few hours if not minutes..before our realtor...and we had an offer in right away. The rest is history!
