A dedicated but frustrated Padre fan created this. It seems to be well researched and carefully produced, for an amateur production.

This is 1 of 4 videos. IMHO, videos 2 and 3 are the best, about 37 minutes for all 4.

Yea I'm watching it right now!
The padres lied to us to get that new stadium.
Padres like the chargers can't be trusted.

There's new ownership, and they are doing what they said -- increasing the payroll.

The Padres are in a small media market. They are in the 28th largest media market. That means that they'll likely come in around that level when it comes to payroll.

They got a $1 billion contract for 20 years. The Angels got three times that, and the Dodgers got five or six times as much.

I see their eventual spending going up to around $80 million a year. That's middle of the pack for now but once other big market teams start negotiating their TV rights, it's going to fall.

I would be happy with a payroll of $70M/year. Right now it is at or below $40M, depending on what is considered part of the payroll.

I'm not a conspiracy guy, or anti-establishment, but after watching all 4 of those videos I'm more convinced that fans were lied to. I trust the Chargers, but not the Padres, maybe the new owners but not Moorad. Those many reasons stated in the documentary must be why MLB would not approve the sale.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss
(until proven otherwise by spending on a prime time player And not letting bona fide stars leave the organization like Adrian Gonzales)

No they are not!
That fiasco with Chase Headley proves it!
Chase Hit 31 home runs last year and yet the padres only gave him 8.5mil for a one year deal

I do too!
In about the year 2019
Tony please don't try to defend these Cheap Bastards.
If anything they should just tell us the truth.
"We are only here to make money"
"We are going to put the cheapest possible team on the field and hope they win"
I can respect that more than being lied too!

If they can sign Chase Headley to a long term deal then I will start to have hope in the new ownership.

If they don't, then I agree, meet the new boss same as old boss.

Check out Change the Padres on Facebook. This 25 year old Marver has already attracted the national media with this damning documentary.

Yeah, those were big disappointments, and you can add Harrison, Welker and others, to that list. At least with the Chargers it is not about being cheap. They just made bad judgement calls regarding personnel.
