Funny the disconnect that seems to be here between people who post on this site and that ranking (done by Men's Health). It always seems like people on this site talk about how it's impossible to meet new people in San Diego.

And the best city for dating is .... - MSN Living

If you're a douche or a skank, other than a drunk weekend hookup in the Doucheskank, you're going to have problems.

However, if you're a normal human being who can use words with more than two syllables in a sentence -- a complete sentence -- you'll be fine.

I can be a real smart ass, especially if you get on my nerves. All you have to do is look at what I say here. I'm pretty much the same person in the flesh as I am here.

But I have met plenty of women and made a lot of friends.

Might partly depend on the gender. Some places are better for males and other places for women. As for San Diego, I haven't lived there in a while, but I thought it was a good place for dating when I was there.

Well having moved back to the Bay Area, I will say this; As a male, what makes SD difficult are the high number of men. HOWEVER, the women there are a little more down to earth. Having been able to do a direct comparison, SD women don't seem to be as full of themselves despite the fact that they deal with the same types of players and douchebags. Sense this was a Mens Health study, I am certain that the attitude of the women in SD played a big part.

Not necessarily. Easier than the Bay Area but that doesn't mean easy. Most of the women I dated while in SD were from LA

Surprised that the down-to-Earth women you met were the ones from LA. This debunks SD's stereotype of LA'ers as being vain and shallow. But I suppose there's a reason these LA women were going to SD to date, which is that people in SD are generally easygoing.

Unless you live in the sticks, it is likely that many of the people you meet will have moved from somewhere else. There will be many reasons why they have moved. For some, it's for work. Some people will have moved due to lifestyle considerations. Some people will have moved to be closer to family.

There are many reasons why people move.

And none of them are important when it comes to whether or not they are someone who will make a good friend or someone to date. It's about what they are, not where they're from.
