Oh Hell NO!

Mayor Filner wants city of San Diego to pay legal bills - latimes.com

I had a feeling that was coming. That's why earlier I suggested that I hope he has a good Umbrella Liability policy that might cover legal fees like this. Most politicians and people with higher net worths have these Umbrella insurance policies in place. Bill Clinton and O.J. Simpson did.

Don't Get Caught Out In A `Storm' - Chicago Tribune

But definitely the City Council should flatly REJECT this request. I think that voters in San Diego need to remember the City Council members come next election time that made ignorant decisions on this Filner mess.

It's NOT appropriate that we as taxpayers pay for his legal bills. He should be pawning this on his Umbrella insurance carrier.

Everyone should call his/her council person and express their opinion on the city paying the legal fees for this predator.

If you don't know what district you're in, here is the website. You can put in your zip code on the right sde of the page and it will tell you your district:

He cannot change his spots. His denial and this latest move suggesting that somehow he is not guilty (I take responsibility until I have to pay money) of any wrongdoing is consistent with his character of repeated offenses.

A national embarrassment.

If it can be shown that he committed a felony the employee is not covered. In addition if he committed these acts in non work related duties again he would not be covered. There is more than one way to skin a cat and in this case I think that they have many options. The chief one is below. ...as an individual.

"An action or proceeding brought by the public entity against its own employee or former employee as an individual and not in his official capacity, or an appeal therefrom."
