As it should! Their claim that "we don't want any cash from taxpayers but we do want them to give us $1 billion in free land" just doesn't pass the smell test. They wanted to steal $1 billion in public property and that, rightly, should be a no-go. They can either pay for their own new stadium or be happy with the one taxpayers gave them free of charge.

i don't really think they had any leverage to begin with because California, especially Southern California, has a long tradition of flat-out refusing to use public-funds, taxpayer dollars to build new stadiums
