That's the only bright spot on the season so far
I hate the dodgers!

It's great when teams with big payrolls do poorly, ie, Yankees, Red Sox, Phillies. Shelling out money for nothing. LOL

Look at the Angels too. Seriously, I don't think the Padres will do much better than .500, but that sadly, will meet my expectations. However, with the way things are going with the NL West, 3-4 games over .500 may get you in. At least on early games I have found an ElCentro radio station that simulcasts 1090, the late games are difficult since right at 8PM south of the border stations with maga strong signals drown out the EC station.

I do like the localized corporate sponsorships:

The Chevron Agricultural Lubricants of El Centro slide into the plate is classic.

In 2005 the Padres actually got into the playoffs with a record just above .500. Of course they were crushed when they played their first series.

I remember that, it was almost the first time in MLB history that a sub-500 team made the playoffs.

Went to the game last night and it was GREAT. A few missed oppts with men in scoring position, but got the runs and defense when it counted!

High 5s all around

Stults pitches complete game for the win, 1 game under .500, 4 back in the division, 7 back for the wild card. If we had not blown some easy saves, we would be easily 2nd place NL west.
